Why Wyncote?
Wyncote is an enclave of largely protected historic properties that were built in 1880’s to 1890’s as a planned, wealthy suburb after the North Pennsylvania Railroad arrived and the Wyncote post office opened in 1887, drawing prominent Philadelphians like department store owner John Wanamaker and, later, publisher Cyrus H.K. Curtis. The preserved Victorian architecture is accompanied by equally impressive,majestic trees and lush greenery.

Jenkintown-Wyncote Train Station
The quaint village that was once home to Philadelphia’s elite, is served by the Wyncote-Jenkintown Train Station, a Regional Rail junction with three SEPTA lines — Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster, and West Trenton.
With trains coming through so often, you may start to wonder if SEPTA has a personal interest in your calendar. The direct 30-minute ride to Center City is convenient, and also offers a direct line to Philadelphia International Airport, with no changes.
Additionally, the Lansdale/Doylestown line, formerly known as “The R5,” provides easy service to Glenside, Fort Washington, Ambler, and Doylestown.
Meeting clients or friends for lunch is just a quick ride away.
All this makes the station a beehive of activity and the ninth-busiest station in SEPTA’s Regional Rail system.
